Battery Equipment Regulation in Türkiye
The first Battery legislation has been published in 2004. Latest revision has been made in 2014.
Who is in Scope?
The natural and legal person who produces or manufactures batteries or accumulators and introduces himself/herself as a manufacturer by placing his/her name, trade mark or distinctive sign on the product; and if the manufacturer is outside of Türkiye the importer.
According to the new draft any device containing batteries or accumulators will also be considered in the scope of this Regulation.
Obligations of Producers:
- To register to TAREKS (Risk-based Trade Control System) for get the permission to import (If no registry custom will not allow any importation)
- Report Put On Market and Collection Amounts yearly.
- Have collection system for Batteries.
- To report the import amounts and pay Recovery Participation Fee every quarter.
