Who is in Scope?
This Regulation applies to any natural or legal person who produces or manufactures batteries or accumulators and identifies themselves as the manufacturer by placing their name, trademark, or distinctive sign on the product.
If the manufacturer is located outside of Türkiye, the importer is considered in scope.
Under the new draft, any device containing batteries or accumulators will also fall within the scope of this Regulation.
Obligations of Producers
Register with TAREKS (Risk-based Trade Control System) to obtain import permissions. Without registration, customs will not allow importation.
Report Put-On-Market and Collection amounts annually.
Establish a battery collection system.
Report import volumes and pay the Recovery Participation Fee on a quarterly basis.
